Helping Children & Families
4KIDS of South Florida 827 S State Rd 7 N Lauderdale, FL 33068 www.4kidsofsfl.org Contact: Reina Parrish 954.583.4183	This Christian foster care organization places children and provides family-style homes for teenage boys, girls and sibling groups. They employ house parents at these "homes". For years, this may be their "home", "Mom" and "Dad", yet each child desires to be adopted into a permanent home.
Broward Girls Academy Pembroke Pines www.yfc.com   Contact: Pastor Gary Brown, Youth for Christ 954.801.0700	The former Lighthouse Facility for Girls has moved and is now called Broward Girls Academy. Youth for Christ provides pastoral care for these incarcerated teenagers who have been court-ordered to this 7-month correctional facility. There will be fun games, Gospel Hip-Hop music, a relevant message, and plenty of "Girl Talk" time. This ministry is for Christian Ladies with no arrests or felony convictions in their past.

Ronald McDonald House 15 SE 15th St Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316 www.rmhcsouthflorida.org Contact: Flora Nwalupue 954.712.8941	The Ronald McDonald House is a temporary "home-away from home" for families to find rest, support and time away from realities of the hospital procedures and routines in any Broward County pediatric medical facility. The Ft. Lauderdale House offers guest families: 20 bedrooms with 2 full beds and private bathroom; a shared large kitchen and dining room area, laundry facilities, family room, outdoor garden, and children’s play area.
Helping the Elderly
Active Senior Living 9057 NW 57th St Tamarac, FL Contact: Victoria 954.721.1115	This senior center is close to the church.  They have 35 rooms and 70 residents.  They would love to have visitors!  There will be several seniors that desire a visitor, especially if accompanied by children.  They love cookies, candy, and homemade cards.  Small friendly pets with proof of shots are welcome.
Plantation Nursing Home Rehab 4250 NW 5th St Plantation, FL 33317 Contact: Cara Pegone 954.587.3296	This Senior Center would love to have company, smiles, laughter and joy.  Well mannered dogs with current shots also welcome. They love to have visitors to know they are not forgotten.
Springtree Rehab & Health Center 4251 Springtree Dr Sunrise, FL 33351 Contact: Darla or Gail 954.572.4251	This senior center is in need of visitors.  They have 110 beds.  There are several rooms that desire a visitor, especially if accompanied by children.
Tamarac Rehab & Health Center 7901 NW 88th Ave Tamarac, FL 33321 Contact: Rose Lustagarten 954.597.3310	This is a 120 bed facility where most of the patients are long-term patients.  They have an activities center and an outdoor patio area for visiting friends and friendly pets (with proof of shots).  Smiles, laughter and joy are welcomed.  There are several rooms that would desire a visitor, especially if accompanied by children.  Several residents are cat lovers.
Virginia Country Manor 8140 NW 47 Ct. Sunrise, FL 33351 Contact: Virginia Sadlon 954.749.3879	This is a small facility with only 6 residents. They love to have visitors. Children and small pets are very welcome.
Westchester Assisted Living 9701 W Oakland Park Blvd Sunrise, FL 33351 954.572.4444	This senior assisted living retirement home has 135 residents that would love to have visitors to brighten their day!  Bring your favorite board game and teach the resident how to play.  Small friendly pets with proof of shots are welcome.  They also have a piano.
Helping the Homeless

Store Manager 954.763.7771 (option 3)	The mission of the Habitat Re-Store is simple: to eliminate poverty housing in Broward County; to provide quality products at discount prices; to keep valuable items out of our landfills; and, to recycle usable building and home improvement merchandise.  All donations benefit Habitat for Humanity of Broward.  Age 14-17 permitted with supervising parent, and parent signature on waiver.

They provide a "home", including meals, day care for their children and assisting in job placement.

Broward Partnership for the Homeless 920 NW 7th Ave Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33311 www.bphi.org Contact: DonnaLee Minott 954.779.7673	This shelter cares for 200 men, women and children every day!  It provides a "home", including meals, day-care on site for children, clothing, health and social services.  These residents are taking their first steps away from homelessness.  Volunteers must fill our BPHI Volunteer Form prior to serving.
LifeNet4Families (formerly known as Cooperative Feeding Program) 1 NW 33rd Ter Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33311 www.feedingbroward.org Contact: Chris Polzer 954.792.2328	This food pantry feeds the homeless, the poor and the hungry.  We support their efforts and acts of love.
Shepherds Way 1822 N Dixie Hwy Wilton Manors, FL 33305 www.theshepherdsway.org Contact: Shannon Brown 954.566.2311	This facility provides 11 single-family units (studios & 1-bedroom).  These are "homes" for families that otherwise would be living on the streets or in their cars.  As many as 7 family members have shared a one-bedroom unit.
Helping Those with Special Needs
ARC Broward Main Office Sunrise 10250 NW 53rd St Sunrise, FL www.arcbroward.com Contact: Debbie Harte 954.746.9400	This organization enriches the lives of over 1,200 people with disabilities, ranging from preschoolers – adults. Their disabilities include Autism, Mental Retardation, Down’s Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.  They teach life skills, academics, job skills and search for jobs within the community for their clients.  They staff several group homes where the adults live independently.
KidzKorner @ Plantation Nursing Home 4250 NW 5th St Plantation, FL 33317 Contact: Cara Pegone 954.587.3296	Kidz Korner is a residential facility for disabled children. These children are severely medically challenged.  Many of these children have no family or friends to visit them. These children absolutely love music.  They need visitors so they do not feel forgotten.
Woodhouse 1 1405 NW 10th St Dania Beach, FL 33004 Contact: Gloria Dickson 954.923.1413	This is a "home" for 14 adults with Cerebral Palsy. It provides the highest quality of life for each resident, with as much independence as possible. Play games or music (they have a piano), singing, and socializing.
