Maximize Your Gift...
An effective way to maximize your gifts is through donation of stock.  Giving stock to the church has the double benefit of giving you the full credit of the stock value as a tax deduction as a charitable contribution and avoids you having to pay tax as capital gains on the stock's increased value.

For example, if you purchased stock for $1,000 several years ago and its value is now $10,000, rather than selling the stock and having to pay tax on the $9,000 gain, you could donate the stock directly to the church.  This would give you a $10,000 charitable giving donation to use for a deduction from your taxes as well as provide the church with the full value of the stock. The process is easy, as stock can be transferred directly into the church's account by your broker or through your on-line brokerage company.
