CommunityKIDZ Give Christmas Away Ideas
For December:
- Make a sibling's bed without taking credit.
- Set the table for your mom before she asks.
- Read a book to a younger child.
- Collect travel sized bottles of personal items for the church Food Pantry.
- Donate old eyeglasses to LensCrafters or Goodwill.
- Donate old cell phones to your local library for battered women's shelters.
- Serve Dad a cold drink when he gets home from work.
- Collect old clothes and donate them to a day care for the dress up area.
- Surprise your mom by serving her breakfast in bed.
- Hide a note for a family member that will encourage them when they find it.
- Wash the car.
- Run the vacuum cleaner.
- Donate soda can tabs to the Ronald McDonald House.
- Bake cookies for your neighbors.
- Make an "I Care Kit".
- Cut coupons for a local food bank.
- Place a flower in your neighbors newspaper.
- Make a thank you card for someone who serves you (postman, grocery cashier, etc.).
- Make a thank you card for your teacher.
- Offer to walk your neighbor's dog.
- Put a family member's clean clothes away.
- Write a note for your mom or dad and tell them why they are special.
- Purchase a toy for a local Children's Hospital.
- Sweep a neighbor's driveway.
- Bring in the recycle bin and trash cans.
- Serve Mom a cold beverage when she gets home.
- Offer to watch a younger sibling so Mom and Dad can have a moment alone in another room.
- Pack your own lunch and maybe even everyone else's.
- Let your sibling go first all day (first to pick a show to watch, cup to drink out of, etc.).
- Sort the laundry.
- Wish everyone you see a "Blessed New Year"
For January:
- Count how many times you ask your parents "Can I help you" during the day. Be sure to complete the task they ask you to do.
- Go an entire day without saying, "I'm bored" or "There is nothing to do".
- Go through your toys and donate your gently used ones to charity.
- Give friends and family kindness coupons they can redeem for kind favors.
- Be kind to a new student or one you may not have taken the time to meet.
- Thank God for the courage and strength he has provided you to complete many of these challenges. Don't stop now, keep up the good work! Look for where God wants you to Give Christmas Away all year long.
