Youth Give Christmas Away Ideas
NOW:
- Get plugged into the First Priority club at your school...if there isn’t one, start one.
- Visit the same nursing home once a month for a year. Start today and get to know people who live there.
- Sponsor a child through Compassion International
- Buy a friend’s lunch every time you go out to eat for a year.
- Volunteer at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen for a whole year. Do whatever they need you to do.
- Sell 50 articles of your clothing on eBay and secretly give the money to an underprivileged family.
- Clean the home/mow the grass/wash the car of a friend or neighbor who could use a hand.
- Go to a supermarket and gather up shopping carts and return them.
- Offer to babysit and/or pay for a dinner or movie out for a young couple or single parent.
- Clean out closets and donate your extra clothes to a relief agency.

- Family Central: (954) 720-1000 www.familycentral.org
- Extra plate for dinner: Invite someone who has no family nearby to your home for dinner or out to lunch.
LATER:
- Buy lunch for your teacher.
- Have a garage sale and give that money to an organization and then volunteer there.
- Raise $2,000 and pay for 10 non-church friends to come to CIY MOVE conference next year.
- Skip the beach trip next spring break and go on a mission trip.
- Give up homecoming or prom. Take the money you would have spent and give it to someone you know can’t afford to go.
- Save up and pay for a weekend trip (hotel, gas, food) for your parent or parents. Make all of the plans and surprise them.
- Organize a food drive for Thanksgiving next year. Make it your goal to raise enough food and funds to feed 500 families.
- Find one person in your school whose family is struggling financially and provide lunch for them once a week. Invite a friend to youth group every week for a year.
- Collect 500 backpacks for local elementary schools to pass out this fall to kids of lower income families.
- Give up soda (or something you really like to eat) for the entire school year...save your money you would normally spend on soda and donate it to someone in need.
